AeroBarrier Official Launch

AeroBarrier officially launched at IBS Orlando and received the top award, Best in Show. AeroBarrier also received the top award for product innovation. Additionally, AeroBarrier was used on The New American Home (TNAH), helping it achieve a HERS Index of 45, LEED Platinum certification, NGBS Emerald Certification, and ZERH certification requirements for minimum envelope leakage.

The energy rater for TNAH, Drew Smith, reported that AeroBarrier cut the Air Changes per Hour (ACH50) in half, from 6 to 2.78, “Everyone wants to see it installed on the 2019 TNAH. The entire project team was stunned to see the ACH easily cut in half, with some saying AeroBarrier is the most innovative energy efficiency product in years,” said Smith.

IBS Awards

This year’s competition was fierce, receiving 324 entries for nine product categories. A team of judges narrowed the 324 entries to 60 finalists. From the 60 finalists, the top award was Best in Show.

Jordan Critz, National Sales Manager for AeroBarrier, said, “The response was overwhelming. Builder engagement was significant. After the ACH results of TNAH, and after being awarded Best in Show, we have seen an uptick in builder interest from across the U.S. and Canada.”

AeroBarrier’s Pilot Program

2017 marked AeroBarrier’s pilot program. At which time the product was immediately embraced by Mandalay Homes, 8-time award recipient of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Housing Innovation Awards.

Mandalay recently broke ground on 3,500 carbon-neutral homes in the master-planned community of Jasper. Mandalay’s Founder, Dave Everson states, “At Mandalay, we believe the catalyst to the carbon-neutral community is AeroBarrier; it will be used on every home we build.”

Meanwhile, Chris Benedict R.A., is regarded internationally as a leader in the field of sustainable building design. She was the first to specify AeroBarrier on a multi-family project. She says the application of AeroBarrier was instrumental in a client’s recent pursuit of Passive House certification on a New York project.

Benedict and Everson participated in AeroBarrier’s 2017 pilot program.

2018 and IBS, officially marks AeroBarrier being available to all U.S. and Canadian markets.
